Every moment I spent fangirling for the K-Pop groups I stan has always been special to me, but this one particular day held so many precious memories that got me thinking:
Am I even allowed to be this happy?
That thought actually went on in my mind all throughout that day that when I sat down and wrote in my journal about everything that happened, I really couldn’t stop smiling.
It was on April 1st of this year. I knew it was April Fools’ Day—I’ve always known that. I actually never really cared that much about April Fools’ so that day, I just started it as usual. I ate breakfast, washed up, and then opened my stan account on X. To my surprise, what greeted me was a flirty exchange between two AHOF fanbases. Well, I already knew it was part of their gimmick for April Fools’ so I just smiled and scrolled past it, but I guess what fate wanted was to immerse me in it. I thought it was just two fanbases—it turned out that other fanbases also joined that gimmick. The next thing I knew, my timeline (TL) was already flooded with the fanbases’ exchange of witty lines.
To share some of the most memorable among those fanbases’ interactions, these ones are top-tier for me:

It was amazing to witness such fun interactions between the fanbases. For a good whole day, I even thought I was actually in another universe where everyone is just happily stanning—no stress, no unnecessary drama, no fanwars. The vibes were just totally light and cheesy, and some stan accounts even joined in on the fun.
But the fun didn’t end there. With the fanbases’ gimmick, AHOF must have been summoned (or at least, that was what I hoped to be the case). Starting with Park Han, AHOF members dropped updates using their official X account (@AHOF_official) in the form of selcas, duo pic, a 2-second video clip, and a tweet about the first OT9 Tiktok video (also uploaded on their official Instagram account and as YouTube shorts on their official YouTube account). Of course, everyone in AHOFville rejoiced over what seemed like a ton of updates from the precious nine. It was especially meaningful for us, AHOF stans and supporters (still nameless as AHOF is still a predebut group), because AHOF updates and contents have been scarce before that day. Just imagine: we had been missing AHOF for so long—and then, out of nowhere on April Fools’ Day, they dropped what felt like a rain of updates from them—it was almost too good to be true like a fever dream. All of us in AHOFville must have felt like we were on cloud nine.
Aside from having the funbases’ interactions (funbases’ is not a typographical error) and AHOF rain of updates, some AHOF stans and supporters didn’t only join the funbases’ April Fools’ gimmick and hyped AHOF updates—they also did not hold back from unleashing their playfulness. Some changed their X accounts to joke about being another account. Some posted AHOF pictures from Universe League and captioned them as “new AHOF pics”. Some posted AHOF fanarts (April Fools’ ver.), and some posted clever tweets. All of those, I was fortunate enough to witness.
Again, am I even allowed to be this happy? I smiled as I wrote the last lines in my journal:
“Today, I just let myself loose and feel all the happiness. Throughout the day, I just kept smiling—something I didn’t even think was possible…”
