JYP Entertainment’s new boy group KickFlip will make their official debut on the 20th with their first mini-album ‘Flip it, Kick it!’. The group is gaining attention as JYP’s next-generation artist, and the group name and 7-member silhouette photo were first revealed at the 2024 MAMA AWARDS held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, USA in November last year.
KickFlip consists of a total of 7 members. They are Gye-hoon, Amaru, Dong-hwa, Joo-wang, Min-je, Kei-ju, and Dong-hyun. They announced their debut news to fans by releasing the album scheduler along with member profile images through KickFlip’s official SNS channel at midnight on the 6th. They also pre-released the full version of the music video for the track ‘Yeah, That’s Right’ on the same day, garnering much attention.
Going forward, Kickflip will begin with the pre-released music video photos and choreography practice videos on the 7th, followed by the introduction film from the 8th to the 9th, and the concept photos from the 10th to the 14th, raising expectations for their debut. The tracklist poster and track video will be released on the 15th, and the music video teaser will be released on the 16th and 17th.
The official debut will begin with the debut show broadcast on Mnet M2 at 7 PM on the 20th. The debut showcase will be held at 9 PM, where they plan to meet their fans for the first time. They will continue to communicate closely with their fans by holding a debut pop-up at The Hyundai Seoul in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul from the 25th to February 2nd after their debut.
The team name ‘Kickflip’ refers to the high-difficulty technique of spinning the board 360 degrees with the tip of the foot on a skateboard. Kickflip named their name with the ambition to show a new and dynamic appearance without being bound by existing frameworks. With this, Kickflip is ready to breathe new life into the music industry, and expectations are high for what kind of musical color they will present with their debut.
