Fandom activities also begin with acknowledging the existence of one’s own favorite (called ‘choeae’ in Korean) that is different from the various interests one likes. This process is called ‘deuktongsago’ because it is said to occur regardless of one’s will and is like a traffic accident.
Through this process, when a fandom accepts their favorite, they will want to belong to a fandom that has the same favorite.
By building solidarity within the fandom in this way, fandom activities will expand and strengthen through ‘Know’, ‘Go’, ‘Do’, and ‘Buy’ moments.
After that, it develops into a process called Sungdeok (successful fandom). By posting on x(twitter) that interprets the character from their own perspective, Fandom gain followers, and by sharing and distributing their own creations to the fandom, they expand their influence, and eventually, they gain enough presence that the idol recognizes them.
After that, through the process of becoming a successful fandom, you move on to the stage of realizing a job or monetization related to fandom activities.
From what I’ve talked to the fandoms I’ve met so far, this process is never something that can be planned or achieved with a goal, and it’s something that you’re already doing without even knowing it, like being a fandom + traffic accident.
